Jumbo pretzels, hunter-style pork
cutlet, roasted half chicken, schnitzel,
sausage, and piles of Bavarian potato
salad and sauerkraut are just a sample
of the tasty treats that go best with a
few biers during the time-honored
tradition known as Oktoberfest. The
event began in Munich in 1810 and has
been raging in Las Vegas since
Hofbräuhaus opened in 2004.
Now, you’re probably wondering
what exactly to pair with this menu
of delicacies? Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas
serves authentic Oktoberfestbier,
with an alcohol by volume of 6.3%.
(The Las Vegas location alone serves
an average of 22,500 liters—or 5,943
gallons—per month.)
In Vegas, Oktoberfest continues
until Nov. 1. Between now and then,
stop by any Friday or Saturday night
and watch a special celebrity guest tap
the keg to kick off the evening’s
festivities — stein-holding contests, live
entertainment, bar games, prizes,
dancing in the aisles, and more. This
month’s lineup includes: “Tease
Queen” Melody Sweets; MMA fighter
Randy Couture, whose keg tapping will
serve as a special benefit for the Las
Vegas Metro Police Foundation’s K9
Section; Comedian, actor, and host
Michael Yo; and “Pawn Stars” star Rick
Harrison. hofbrauhauslasvegas.com
