DINING
United Tastes
of America
While many celebrate life, liberty, and the
pursuit of happiness in July, true patriots are
out chasing something even more
American—burgers, hot dogs, and pie. This
month, we honor all things Americana, one bite
at a time.
A classic hot dog hits just right on a
smoldering Las Vegas day. As any true fan
knows, the best dogs come from the most
unassuming spots. Enter American Coney
Island at The D Las Vegas. Straight from
Michigan, this 24-hour joint serves up
Dearborn sausage hot dogs smothered in a
secret chili sauce, finished with mustard and
chopped onions. Pro tip: if you must use
ketchup, maybe keep that to yourself. thed.com
For the best burger in Las Vegas, sometimes
you’ve got to make it yourself—or let
Spiegelworld do it for you. That’s exactly what
they’ve done at No Pants, a burger stand
tucked inside the Green Fairy Garden at
Absinthe. Here, two patties, grilled onions,
American cheese, and dill pickles come stacked
on brioche buns and finished with an
“extremely secret sauce.” Bonus: they also
serve tots and coffee. spiegelworld.com
What’s more American than pie? Joe’s
Stone Crab at The Forum Shops at Caesars
offers nearly a dozen to choose from. For the
full red-white-and-blue effect, grab a slice of
good old-fashioned apple pie, packed with
warm fruit, topped with cinnamon streusel,
and served à la mode. Thanks to the founding
fathers, calories don’t count in July.
